Janurary- Salvation

I can't think of a better way to start off the year than to pray over our children for their salvation. If they have already accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts Awesome! You could pray for someone else that you know is not saved. If you are a parent of small child or if you're pregnant you can pray God's Word over them so that they would ask Jesus into their hearts at an early age. I believe it is never too late or too early to pray for their salvation.

Janurary 1st
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall no perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV

"Heavenly Father, thank you for Your promise that whoever believes in You will not die. I pray that my child(ren) would believe in You at an early age. Help me to be the example I need to be so that my child(ren) would believe in you at an early age."

January 2nd
"For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God..." Romans 3:23 NIV

"Heavenly Father, I know everyone has sinned and I ask that you would reveal to my child(ren) their sins quickly so that they may ask for forgiveness."

January 3rd
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 NIV

"Heavenly Father, thank you for demonstrating your love for us and sending your son to die so that my child(ren) may know you and LIVE."

January 4th
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 NIV

"Dear God, I know the cost of sin and I pray that my child(ren) would receive your gift of your Son Jesus Christ at an early age. I entrust my child(ren) to you this day. Thank you so much for your awesome gift for my child(ren)."

January 5th
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. " Romans 10:9-10 NIV

"Heavenly Father, I pray that my child(ren) would confess his/her sins quickly and acknowledge you as Lord and believe in his/her heart so that they may be saved from sin."

January 6th
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 NIV

"Dear Lord, Your Word promises to save all that calls on Your name. I pray that my child(ren) would call on Your name and I KNOW that you will hear him/her. I pray that I'd be the example to my child(ren)."

January 7th
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that time of refreshing may come from the Lord." Acts 3:19 NIV

"Thank You Lord, Your word gives me comfort in knowing that You 'wipe out' our sins when we repent. I pray that my child(ren) would be miserable in their sins. I pray that as they repent they would find times of refreshing just as your Word promises."

Wow what a powerful first week! I was amazed at the scriptures God led me to. I'm sure we all know children that are not saved - I pray that God would reveal to all of us parents the name of a child that is not covered by a praying parent so that we can interceede for that child. Please share this blog with all parents that you know. I will close with this thought from the book "The Power of a Praying Parent" by Stormie Omartin- If we are not praying for our children it's like sitting on the side lines watching them being shot at from every angle. I pray that us Christian parents would not sit on the sideline watching our children being shot at but rather us praying over them.

God Bless each of you as you being this journey with me. Don't forget to start a journal for this year -writing specific prayer request down. I look forward to hear Praise reports throughout this year.

Getting Started

Hello Parents,
This is very exciting for me. I've never done anything like this before but here it goes. Several years ago, about 2-3 now, God gave me an idea to create a calendar for parents to pray Scriptures over their children. I began to be obedient in spite of my limitations-most of which were self limiting. After all can't all of us "Do all things through Christ who Strengthens Us." Philp 4:13.  I took each month one by one and finally it was all done. Now what. I initally thought I could have it published and sell it to make extra income for my family. I looked into creating a desk top calender but was discouraged to find out that it would take thousands of dollars (that I didn't have) to have it published and printed. I still believe one day that may happen but until then I was encouaraged to start a blog so that parents can start praying what God has put in my heart.

I am a mother of 2 girls, ages 17 and 14. I love my girls very much and like most parents want their lives to be filled with every good thing that God has meant for them to have. Like most mothers I've sometimes have struggled with connecting to my girls and didn't want my failures as a parent to limit God's purpose for their lives. I have dealt with many childhood insecurities that have impacted my parenting style. God continues to remind me that it is not about me and my insecurities but about Him and what He can do in spite of my weakness and failures. God gave me 12 (one for each month of the year) specific areas for parents to pray over their children to include: health, relationships, character, and salvation. God lead me to beautiful scriptures to cover 28-31 days each month different areas of our children's lives. As I journey through this year praying over my children I truely hope that you will take the challenge along with me to pray for your children. Just think what God can do when parents join together praying over every aspect of their children's lives - no matter the age they are now-the possibilities are limitless. I'm excited about this up coming year.

I plan to start January 1st listing a week's worth of prayers and scriptures-updating weekly. I encourage you to keep a journal of specific prayer request and answers so you can look back and see God's hand guiding our children to their purpose and destiny.

My pray for each parent is that God will remind you to pray and strengthening you to be the parenet that your children need so that He/She can grow up and be the man/woman God created them to be.
