July- Love For God's Word

Parents

I hope everyone is still hanging in there and enjoying the blog. This week's verses and prayers are surrounded by obeying and having a respect for God's Word and laws. Over the last month or so I don't think I have sat in a church service Youth and "big church" alike that obedience has not come up. Just this past Wednesday Pastor Adam talked about obedience as God's mode of transportation to get us where He is taking us. How many of us and our children have hopped off the train of obedience? How many times have we as adults have been delayed in a receiving answer to prayer? Could be because of disobedience? Just yesterday Pastor Dave reminded us that there are many commands throughout the Bible, like "Love your neighbour as yourself", "be kind to one another," and "take care of the widows and the orphans" There are many many more commands throughout the Bible and we are responsible for obeying. May all of our senses be made alert to each and every command as we read His Word.

I hope you you are able to unlock some delayed blessings/treasures this week with just simply returning to the basics of obedience.

July 15th Proverbs 14:27
Respect for the Lord is like a fountain that gives life. It turns you away from the jaws of death. (NIRV)

“Father God, I pray that my child/ren would be turned away from death and that he/she would be in the midst of the fountain of life as he/she respects you.”

July 16th Psalm 119:2
Blessed are those who obey his covenant laws. They trust in him with all their hearts.(NIRV)

"Heavenly Father, I pray blessings over my children as they trust in Your plan for their live. Fill them with a deep yearning to be obedient."

July 17th Psalm 63:8
I hold on to you. Your powerful right hand takes good care of me. (NIRV)

“Wonderful God, I pray that my child/ren would hold onto you everyday of his/her life. Thank you for taking good care of him/her.”

July 18th Psalm 34:9
You people of God, have respect for the Lord. Those who respect him have everything they need. (NIRV)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren have everything he/she needs as he/she shows respect for you.”

July 19th Psalm 19:9
The law that brings respect for the Lord is pure. It lasts forever. The directions the Lord gives are true. All of them are completely right. (NIRV)

“Dear Lord, I pray that my child/ren would follow your directions.

July 20th Psalm 19:7
The law of the Lord is perfect. It gives us new strength. The laws of the Lord can be trusted. They make childish people wise. (NIRV)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren find strength in your perfect Law. I pray that your word will make my child/ren wise.”

July 21th Exodus 20:20
Moses said to the people, "Don't be afraid. God has come to put you to the test. He wants you to have respect for him. That will keep you from sinning." (NIRV)

“Heavenly Father, I pray that my chld/ren would not be afraid. I pray that he/she pass the test as he/she show respect for you.”

Wow theses verses this week all touch on respecting and obeying God's word/laws. If all of us could unlock that power and the treasures God has intended for us to have just by simply obeying-what would be different in our lives today? When my girls were little we had a saying "obedience was to do what you are told when you are told to do it and with a good attitude." I can honestly say the "good attitude" or motive of the heart may just be the one keys to unlock those treasures and blessings.

My prayer this week is that not just our children but us parents too would be able to return to the basics and simply obey. Is there something God has been asking you to do and you have put it off thinking you couldn't do it? Allow the Holy Spirit to search your heart and see if there is any sin of omission or just plan forgetfulness. Maybe we could share with our children times of obedience or even disobedience to God our consequences. I often wonder if our children think that "obeying" is only for them while they are in "our homes." They need to know that being obedient is a life style.

Blessings to each of you this week.

July- Love for God's Word

Good Morning Parents,

I hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying the heat. I'm personally have neven been a huge outside girl and have to admit I like the cooler weather myself.

I wanted to share with another favorite verse of my this week. Have you ever been spanked by God when you read His Word? Has the Holy Spirit ever lead you to a specific passage in the Bible and you felt like you needed to go to time out? Well I did.

I am a physical therapist assistant and I take great "pride" in my job and I love what I do. There was a time in my live years ago that I became very prideful of how good I was compared to co-workers. Patients and families would praise me and always would be so thankful for my help. Well, there came a time that I became too prideful in my job and what I thought of myself. There was usual work drama, at home drama with small children, juggling sporting activities of two children, financial issues, busy with church activities, ect you get the picture...normal life.

I can't remember the exact issue or concern I was having at the time (I'm sure it had something to do with not being good enough or having enough recongition for being such a good employee, wife, mother, church memember, sports mom) but God lead me to this passage in 2 Corinthians 3:4-6
"Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers...."

Ooch! I was most definitely put in my place. It was then that I realized that what ever good I did in what ever role I was in all came from God. With out God working inside of me there is no good. It is Him who makes me sufficent in all that I do. I can't be a good employee, wife, mother, church memember w/o God's Grace and mercy working in, throught, and over me. I desire now more than ever to know my place and to be lead by God in all that I do. And I now trust more than ever that it is God that makes me good enough at what ever He calls me to do.

July 9th
Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me. Psalm 119:105 (NIRV)

“Thank you Lord, for your Word, it is a light that guides us everyday. I pray that my child/ren would always know the path he/she should take.”

July 10th
The word of God is living and active. It is sharper than any sword that has two edges. It cuts deep enough to separate soul from spirit. It can separate joints from bones. It judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12(NIRV)

“Dear Lord, I pray that your Word would be living and active within my child/ren’s life. May Your Word seperate anything from their souls that is not of You. I pr ay that their thoughts and purposes of their hearts be pure and pleasing to you.”

July 14
Fear of the Lord lengthens one’s life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. Proverbs 10:27(NLT)

Respect for the Lord is like a fountain that gives life. It turns you away from the jaws of death. Proverbs 14:27 (NIRV)

“Father God, I pray that my child/ren would be turned away from death and that he/she would be in the midst of the fountain of life as he/she respects you.”

July 16
Blessed are those who obey his covenant laws. They trust in him with all their hearts. Psalm 119:2 (NIRV)

July- Love For God's Word

Dear Parents,
This month we look at many promises that that the Bible gives us. The Bible is truely our road map and encyclepida for our Christian walks. It tells us how we are to treat others, it tells us how to speak, it tells us who we should be in relationships with. It has the answers for everything that we may ever need to know. I have to admit that I have not been a Bible reader over the years as I should. I do know that with every problem or situation that I or my family face I'm drawn back to a scripture that gives me understanding, wisdom, or direction.

My most favorite Bible Verse is Psalms 32:8. "I will instruct you in which way you should go. I will teach you with my own eye." I was lead to this verse while in high school wanting to go to college and not sure what to do or even how to get there. Being raised in a single parent family didn't offer too many fincial perks but mostly worry and doing without. But I knew that God was calling me into being a physcial therapist assistant. I stood on this promise that He would lead me and watch over me. And I can honestly say 22 years later I'm in the right career for me. My college was not only paid for but I had a gaureented job waiting me when I graduated.

I desire for God to give my girls the same promises and assurances that He'll open doors for them in order for their calling to be completed.

Lets jump into the Word!

July – Love For God and His Word

July 1st Psalm 119:133
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. (NIV)
“Dear Lord I pray that you would direct the footsteps of my child/ren. I pray that he/she would keep you Word in his/her heart so that sin won’t rule over him/her.”

July 2nd Joshua 1:8
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (NIV)

“Dear God I pray that your Laws would never depart my child/ren. I pray that he/she meditate on it daily. I pray that he/she would be successful in all he/she does.”

July 3rd Psalm 119:33
Lord, teach me to follow your orders. Then I will obey them to the very end. (NIRV)

“Dear Lord, I pray that my child/ren would learn your ways. I pray that he/she would obey your Word all the days of his/her life.”

July 4th Psalm 19:8
The rules of the Lord are right. They give joy to our hearts. The commands of the Lord shine brightly. They give light to our minds. (NIRV)

“Heavenly Father, I pray that your Word would give light to my child/ren’s mind. I pray that he/she would have joy.”

July 5th Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing the message. And the message that is heard is the word of Christ. (NIRV)

June - Serving

Good Morning Parents,

We are finishing up the month of June on having a servant heart. Serving is a vital part of being apart of the bigger picture. I just love the TV commerical..I think it is about an insurance company...where one person observes another person doing a kind act (example holding open a door, or picking up something a person dropped, or stopping someone from stepping out in on coming traffic when that person is txt and not paying attention). Well the person who observed the act of kindness then does something for someone else and so on for 3 or 4 more people.

My Mother also was told me "you never know who is watching so you better watch what you do." I am trying to pass that on to my girls. I have put a mommy lecture in three little letters.

"RRP"
R- Reflect God's Character in your actions and attitude
R- Represent your parents, God, your pastors, and your church with your words, action, attitude, the places you go, and on the road DRIVING ATTITUDE -I'm still working on that one myself sometimes - shew Lord help me! LOL
P- Protect your destiny with the choices you make. There are several examples in my and my husband's family of how choices have a life long impact.

We were created to do good work and to serve others - to be God's hand extended or to be God with skin on - to quote a few old phrases. I desire that my children to have a strong desire to see the needs of others and to be sucessful enough in life to be able to walk out what God has put infront of them to do.

Let's look at God's Word...

June 25th Joshua 24:14
"So have respect for the Lord. Serve him. Be completely faithful to him. Throw away the gods your people worshiped east of the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord. (NIRV)

“Dear Lord, I pray for my child/ren today. I pray that he/she would be completely faithful to the one and only God. I pray that he/she would have a life of service to you.”

June 26th 2 Corinthians 6:4
Instead, we make it clear that we serve God in every way. We serve him by holding steady. We stand firm in all kinds of trouble, hard times and suffering.(NIRV)

“Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that my child/ren would serve you everyday of his/her life no matter the situation good or bad.”

June 27th Deuteronomy 10:20
Have respect for the Lord your God. Serve him. Remain true to him. When you make promises, take your oaths in his name. (NIRV)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren would keep all of his/her promises and remain true to you.”

June 28th Deuteronomy 11:13 So be faithful. Obey the commands the Lord your God is giving you today. Love him. Serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NIRV)

“Father God, I pray that my child/ren would obey your commands. I pray that he/she would serve you with all of his/her heart and soul.”

June 29th 1 Peter 4:10
God's gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully. (NIRV)

“Thank you Lord for the gifts you have given my child/ren. I pray that he/she would use them to serve others. I pray that he/she would always be faithful to you ways.”

June 30th 1 Peter 4:11
If you speak, you should do it like one speaking God's very words. If you serve, you should do it with the strength God provides. Then in all things God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Give him the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIRV)

“Dear Lord, I pray that my child/ren would give you the honor and glory due you by the way he/she lives his/her live. I pray that he/she would serve with all his/her strength that you have provided.”

July – Love For God and His Word

July 1st
Psalm 119:133 Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. (NIV)

“Dear Lord I pray that you would direct the footsteps of my child/ren. I pray that he/she would keep you Word in his/her heart so that sin won’t rule over him/her.”

Parents I hope you have a great week as we enter a new month. Be blessed as you pray over your treasures from Heaven above. May God let you see the fruit of your prayers.

June- Serving

Parents,

I hope you are enjoying the scriptures on our monthly topics. Some verses have shaken me over the last 6 months. They have challenged me in my own personal life. I trust you too have been touched by God's Word.

June 18th Hebrews 6:10
God is fair. He will not forget what you have done. He will remember the love you have shown him. You showed it when you helped his people. And you show it when you keep on helping them. (NIRV)

“Thank you God for your fairness. I pray that my child/ren would show love to everyone you place in his/her path and by doing this he/she will show his/her love towards you.”

June 19th Luke 22:26
But you must not be like that. Instead, the most important among you should be like the youngest. The one who rules should be like the one who serves. (NIRV)

“Dear Lord, your word is clear that we should have a servant heart. I pray that my child/ren would be like the one who serves.”

June 20th Luke 22:27
Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves. (NLT)

“Awesome Lord, I pray that my child/ren would always know that it is more important to serve others than to be the one sitting at the table.”

June 21st Galatians 5:13
My brothers and sisters, you were chosen to be free. But don't use your freedom as an excuse to live in sin. Instead, serve one another in love. (NIRV)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren would always remember the cost of his/her freedom. I pray that he/she would choose to serve others in love.”

June 22nd Malachi 3:18
Then once again you will see the difference between godly people and sinful people. And you will see the difference between those who serve me and those who do not. (NIRV)

“Precious Lord, I pray that others will see the difference in my child/ren as he/she chooses to serve others.”

June 23rd Matthew 20:28
"Be like the Son of Man. He did not come to be served. Instead, he came to serve others. He came to give his life as the price for setting many people free." (NIRV)

“Thank you Jesus for your ultimate act of service. I pray that my child/ren would have boldness to serve even when it is hard.”

June 24th Psalm 2:11
Serve the Lord and have respect for him. Serve him with joy and trembling. (NIRV)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren have respect for you and that he/she would serve with joy and with respect for who you are.”

I don't know about you but I desire to be a better servant. I desire a pure heart and mind when it comes to serving. God blessess a servant heart. I desire so much for my children. I pray that God will give each one of us parents a servant heart and wisdom how to instill a servant heart into our children so that their lives too will be blessed even more so than ours.

June- Servant heart

Parents,

It is hard to believe that school is out and summer has hit full blast. I hope everyone is finding time to spend with your families this summer. Our family's vaction wont be until the end of July. It seems so far away. But we are looking forward to going out of town and are having fun trying to finalize our plans.

I hope everyone is having a good time praying the Scriptures over your children. It is awesome at the verses that God lead me to and how it has changed my perspective on things - being a parent.

June 4th Colossians 3:23
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (NLT)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren would have a willing heart to work hard and serve you in all things.”

June 5th Matthew 25:34-45
… “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ (NLT)

“Lord, I pray that you open the eyes of my child/ren to see those in need. I pray that he/she will never refuse to help someone in need.”

June 6th Matthew 7:16a
You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. (NLT)

“Father God, I pray that my child/ren would bare good fruit and that it would be known to all that he/she belongs to you.”

June 7th Galatians 6:10
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (NLT)

“Dear Lord, I pray that my child/ren would see the opportunities that you provide for him/her to do good to everyone.”

June 8th Proverbs 3:28
If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” (NLT)

“Dear God, I pray that my child/ren never turns anyone away that has a need. I pray that you would bless my child/ren so that he/she can help those in need.”

June 9th Galatians 6:3
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. (NLT)

“Lord, I pray that my child/ren would never think more highly of him/herself than he/she should. I pray that he/she would find his/her identity in you and never put anyone beneath him/her.”

June 10th John 13:15
I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. (NLT)

“Thank you Jesus for the example you have given us. I pray that my child/ren would follow your example and serve others.”

God's Word is so clear on how we are to treat others and that we are to be helpful to others in need. I truely believe that we are being God's hand extended to others when we are willing to help others. I truely desire for my children to have a pure heart full of God's love that aches for others and aches if they are not serving others. I speak life into the spirit and hearts of my children that they would be God's servants.

Blessings on you parents as you diligently pray over your children. It's a process. May God give each of you wisdom and courage to be the Mom and Dad that your children need so that they will grow up and be the man and woman that God created them to be.

May/June

Dear Parents,

Its hard to believe that we are closing out another month. They are flying by so fast. As school has ended this year I'm now the parent of a freshman and a senior in high school. It's hard to believe. I have been blessed with good children and I desire that they have a heart for the Lord and trust Him with every aspect of their lives.

As we come into June we will be praying for a servant heart. God lead me to several verses to address how we are to live our lives and the attitude we are to have while we serve others. I pray that we all are encouraged to be better servants as we are the examples of serving in front of our children.

I hope everyone has a great holiday tomorrow. Blessings as you continue to pray God's Word over your children.

May-Relationships

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It has been a nice warm day outside today.
On a personal note...I have been confronted with the issue of the extreme importance of good relationships, trust, and consequences for choices we make. My families' life has been turned upside down to say the least this past week with much uncertainty waiting ahead of us. I this one thing I know that nothing has taken my God by surprize and that He's love for me and my family "never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on me." I have been so very blessed by awesome friendships for me to talk to and lift me and my family up in prayer. There has been many words of encouragment and just the rigth Bible verses for me to rely on. No one wants to go through though times or to see someone you love hurt because of the choices they make but as Pastor Rusty said this morning that "God doesn't allow storms to destroy you but to shape and mold you" As Pastor Jenny said to day in Vibe that we need to be flexible/pliable so that God can mold us into what He needs when He needs it.

Now back to relationships for our children...it is a must for us to cover every relationship that our children have. The enemy is on the prowl seeking and looking for who he can destroy. I hope everyone finds comfort, peace, strength from these verses this week to cover our most priceless treasures that we have-our children...

May 21. Ephesians 4:31-32

Parents,
Every week when I type these scriptures and small prayers I'm amazed all over again that God's Word truely covers every aspect of our lives and gives total direction and wisdom for us - both as individuals and as parents. I have realized that as parents we have thousands of opportunities to be display good character...from how you handle when someone steals money from your wallet at work like what happened to me this to simple patients while waiting in line to check out and being able to give a loving smile to a stressed out cashier. I've lost it so many times and wish I realized the magnitude of my actions in the past. God doesn't condem and He forgives me. I just have to take one day and one opportunity at a time.

I pray that God would increase yours and mine awareness of the opportunities we have to be an example of Godly Character to our children. I that you would have strength and endurance yourself to finish the race before us as parents.

April -Character

Good Afternoon Parents,

What a beautiful and warm today we are having. I hope everyone is getting a chance to enjoy the beautiful outdoors some. My heart has been heavy for both of girls this week but in different ways. My heart hurts when they have go through things that they don't understand-I don't understand for that matter. As you know, as a parent we have to entrust their growth and lift into the hands of their Creator. Our children are contronted with enormous amounts of stress and peer pressure and Lord knows what else. All the more important to cover them in prayer.

I hope you find some peace, reassurance, and comfort in the verses for this week.

April 9th

Heavenly Father, I pray for my child(ren) that he/she would have a character laced with endurance to be able to run the race You have set before them. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would make him/her aware of anything that would slow him/her down or distract from the course You have set.

April 10th

Lord, I pray that my child(ren) would fullfill his/her purpose that You have created him/her for. I pray that he/she would always do what is right, just, and fair.

April 12th
"Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober(calm, collected, and circumspect). 1Thessalonians 5:6 (AMP)

Precious Lord, I pray that my child(ren)'s character would always be alert, watchful, and cautious. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would guide him/her in all situations. I pray that You would give wisdom and diescernment in all decisions that he/she has to make. I pray the he/she would always seek Your counsel first.

April 13th
"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life." Galations 6:4-5 (MSG)

Precious Lord, I pray for my child(ren) today. I pray that he/she would always take responsibility for his/her own actions. I pray that he/she would always do his/her best in all things. I pray that he/she would have a Godly self-image and not one that compares, boast, or is prideful.

Merciful Lord, I pray that my child(ren) would be a pleasing aroma to You as he/she lives a life filled with love. I pray that he/she would follow Your example of how he/she is to love others.

I continue to pray that each of you are finding strength and comfort in the scriptures. I can honestly say that being a parent is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I can't do it w/o God. As we progress from one stage of parenting to another we need to rely on God to gives us wisdom, disernment, and courage to let go and allow our children to make their own choices. I know in the very core of who I am that no prayer will go unanswered. I find peace and comfort in God's Word and promises for us and our babies.

April - Character

Good Morning Parents,

I'm so looking forward to some sunny weather. I hope everyone has had a great week. I can't believe that we are already into the 4th month of this year. I truely understand now the phrase "time flies by." I guess that is becuase now being a parent my perception of time has changed somewhat. I see that now in 2 months my oldest daughter will be a senior in high school and my youngest will be a freshman in high school. Now I think about the time I have left with my children to be making an impact on their lives. As our children get older our role as a parent changes. Our role gets redefined I think as they older. I used to think it would be easier being the parent of an older child but I was wrong. It is during this time that you hope that everything you've tried to pour into them has made it and sets them up for success in life.

This month we will be praying for the character of our children. SO what is character exactly? Webster's has this to say about it...

Character- one of the attribues or features that make up and distinguishes the individual; a feature made to seperate; the complex of mental and ethical traits making and often individualizing a person; a person marked by notable or conspicuous traits; reputation; moral excellence and firmness.

Now here is what God's Word has to say about our character.

April 2nd
"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law again these things." Galations 5:22-23 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, I pray that my child(ren)'s character be fruitful as according to Your Word. Help me to be a good example in front of child(ren) daily. I pray blessings over him/her as Your Holy Spirts produces fruit in his/her life.

Aprinl 3rd
"Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselve with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." Colossians 3:12 (NLT)

Father God, I pray that my child(ren) would choose to clothe him/herself in Your tenderhearted mercy, kindess, humility, gentleness, and patience. Thank You Lord, for choosing us to be Your Holy people.

April 4th
"Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."
1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, I pray that my child(ren) would rich in good works and always generous and sharing with others in need. I pray as he/she obeys your commands that he/she would recieve treasures as Your Word promises. I pray for Your blessings in his/her life so that he/she can be a blessing to others.

April 5th
"work willingly at whatever you do, as though You were working for the Lord rather than for people." (NLT)

Dear Lord, I lift up my child(ren) to you today. I pray that he/she would always be willing to work hard as if working for You. I pray that he/she would have a good work ethic.

April 6th
"I know how to live on almost nothing or with everthing. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or enpty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12-13

Merciful Lord, I pray that my child(ren) would find the secret of living in every situation. May he/she know that he/she can do all thins through Christ. I pray that he/she would depend on you for every need.

April 7th
"So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neighter fail you nor abdondon you" Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank You Heavenly Father for this promise. I pray against all fear and panic disorders. I speak faith and peace in to my child(ren)'s life. I trust Your Word and I release my child(ren) into Your hands for I know that You'll never abandon or fail him/her.

April 8th,
"Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God and respect the King" 1 Peter 2:17 (NLT)

Heavenly Father I pray that my child(ren) would always be respectful to others even when it is not easy. I pray that he/she would always fear/respect Your authority in a way that is pleasing to You.

Parents, I know we all desire for our children to display true inner character that represents us as parents and more importantly to have a character that reflects God's character to others around them. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you areas in your child's character that needs to be strengthened and how to strengthen it. Like wise ask for the weakness to be revealed and ask how to put to death those things that shouldn't be there.

I pray blessings on each of you as you continue to journey in God's Word in prayer over your children.

March/April

Parents,

I was looking over the scriptures for this week and was almost laughing at one of them. God has been really dealing with me about hearing His voice. It started after serving at Manna House one Saturday for Angel Food. I was placed at a car line with an awesome couple who loves God-Doug and Bonnie. Bonnie and I would take turns praying for ladies and Doug would pray for the males. Doug or Bonnie would say something like "there is evil in that car" or "there is a sad spirit" or something like that. I was hungery for that type of disccernment. So I prayed and asked God for me to be able to His voice more clearly. One morning I was driving out of my subdivision to go to work. I can turn left or right. I usually go the same way every morning. Anyway, I heard go "right" so I went right. I really didn't think much of it at first. But this happened almost every morning. Some days I turned left or right out of obedience. Next I noticed that I would hear His voice "sooner" when I would get in the car and then while getting dressed. Over the weeks. I would here "left" or "right" when driving to routine places. Sometimes I missed the turn and found my self back tracking to obey. Do you know it is so much easier to obey the first time than to find yourself driving around the roundabout and back tracking. How much time and or opportunities have we missed out becuase we didn't hear the small voice saying "turn here" or "go straight." I have found myself anticipating what direction God is going to take me in each day. I so desire to go where He wants me to. As much as I want this for myself I even more so want this for my children. How much heartache would be saved or what kind of doors/blessing we would have if we all could have such an awareness of God's voice in EVERY choice we make every day. That is the place I desire to live in.

I hope you find an increase awareness of God's voice in your own life and as you parent your children.

A Parent's Heart - Shannon

March 26th
"Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go,' whether to the right or to the left." Isaiah 30:21 (NLT)

Father God, I pray that my child(ren) would learn to hear Your voice and to be brave enough to follow Your instructions. I pray that he/she would have a very keen awareness to Your voice over the enemies. May he/she always know what direction in which he/she should go.

March 27th
"Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do." Ephesians 5:17 (NLT)

April 1st - Character

"O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me." Psalm 139:1 (NLT) READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER

Awesome Father, I'm amazed that You know everything about me and my child(ren). I lift up my child(ren) to you this day and lay claim to Your promise of purpose and destiny for him/her. May I never forget to remind my child(ren) of Your perfect plan for his/her life.

Wow, awesome scriptures this week as usual. I'm so humbled at the responsiblity we have to raise our children to become who God created them to be. When I look at the mistakes I've made. It would be so easy to wallow in guilt and regret. But I don't have time - we as parents dont have time. God is a forgiving God and can redeem time and our mistakes. He can use our mistakes to grow our children up.

Be blessed this week.

March - Destiny and Talents

Good Morning Parents,

I hope everyone is doing well. We are! Don't you just love those mornings when God wakes you up and calls you to come spend time with Him? This is one of those times. I had put off blogging last night because I felt I hadn't heard from God what to start of with. When He woke me up this morning I told God I felt "empty" - I love it when God answers you back. He said it's not you writing anyway it's ME! You can't argue with that. SO out of obedience I'm starting my blog for this week.

I have reveiwed the verses for this week and I'm excited. The Word is filled with promises of gifts, inheritances, and most importantly never being seperated from God.

So get your journals out and your pens ready for this week. Be excited about what God is going to do in your life for being faithful to prayer over your child and especially what God is doing and going to do in the life of your children.

March 12
"God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one anothe." 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Father God, I pray that my child(ren) would use the gifts You have placed deep inside them. I know that You have woven specific and speical gifts into my child(ren) while they were in my womb. Reveal them to me and to my child(ren). I pray that he/she would find completeness and joy in his/her life as he/she serves others with the gifts You gave him/her.

March 13th
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the perfect gifts that come from above. Thank You Lord for not changing. I pray that my child(ren) would find peace in know You have given them perfect gifts as apart of their DNA. I pray that he/she will use, grow, and apply their gifts.

March 14th
"Just think-you don't need anything, you've got it all! All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God Himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of His Son and our Master. He will never give up on you. Never forget that." 1 Corinthians 1: 4-7 (NIV)

Wow, Lord! Your Word is amazing. Thank You for never giving up on me. Thank You for giving us everything we need to do what You have called us to do. I declare this scripture over my child(ren) today. That he/she will always have what they need. I pray that they accept Your gifts and never give up on You becuase You have promoised to NEVER give up on them.

March 15th
"What, the, shall we say in repsonse to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?...v 35 Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ?... v38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present not the fututre, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:31-39 (NIV)

Might God, I pray these verses over my child(ren) today. I lay claim to the promises that there is NOTHING that can seperate my child(ren) from You or his/her destiny. Thank You for the gift of Your Son and the assurance that you will not withhold anything from him/her so that Your call on his/her lift will be complete.

March 16th
"Furthermore, becuase we are united with Christ, we have recieved an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan." Ephesians 1:11 (NLT)

Father God, I praise You and thank You for the inheritance that my child(ren) have in You. I trust that You will make all things work out according to Your plans for his/her life.

March 17th
"Jesus said, 'if there are no 'ifs' among believers. Anything can happen." Mark 9:23 (Message)

Gracious Heavenly Father, thank You that there is no road block that can keep my child(ren) from his/her destiny. I pray that my child(ren) would believe this verse in the depths of his/her soul. I pray that
my child(ren) would alway know that as long as they are in right standing with You that "Anything can happen."

March 18th
"The Lord your God will then make you successuful in everything you do. He will give you many children and numerous livestock, and He will cause your fields to produce aboundant harvests for the Lord will again delight in being good to you as He was to Your ancestors." Deuteronomy 30:9 (NLT)

Hevenly Father, thank You for the treasures found in Your Word. I pray that You will make my child(ren) successful in everything he/she does. I pray that You will delight in being good to him/her. I pray Father that the trust fund of spiritual blessings created by my child(ren)'s ancestors would flow over them in Your timing. Show me how to leave a trust fund of spiritual blessings for my child(ren) in my walk with You.

I told you. God's Word is powerful and so rich this week. I'm so reassurred this week that God has the best interset and plans for my children. Now, I'm praying this things over my children my question is how can we as parents get our children to know these things? Maybe we can write scriptures on a bulletin board ( I used to do this and have just stopped for some reason.) or we could slip love notes to our children with these verses in their pillows or in their book bags and they can find them and read them. I don't know what will work for you but we also need to share the Word of God with our children not just pray them. God's Word is so full of treasures for both us as parents and for our children.

I hope you contine on this journey with me and may God richly bless each one of you as you contine to journal and pray over your gifts from God.

March-Destiny/Tallents

Good Morning Parents,

I hope everyone has had a great week. My family is doing great. We are in the middle of trusting God for His direction in several areas of our lives. I find great trust in the scripture Ps 32:8 were God saids "I will instruct you in the way you should go and will counsel you with my own eye." That is pretty awesome to know that the creator of this world promises to show me the right way to go. I hope that this blog is encouraging you as parents to pray using God's Word to cover the different areas of your child's life. I love this months focus. One of my daughters is very focused towards a specific goal. She knows what she wants to do as far as college and career (now I know that can change as it does often with teenagers and college students - LOL) but for now she is focused. My other daughter -granted younger- has no real idea as to what she may want to do in life. For both girls I know how important it is to have God's guideness and blessing on their lives. I so desire for them to trust and hear God's voice for their lives.

I hope you find hope and courage in these verses this week. My prayer for you parents is that "God would help you to be the parents you need to be so that your children would grow up and be the man or woman of God that He created them to be."

Parents, God's Word is so powerful. I love how it tells us that once He gives a gift it can't be taken away. How awesome would it be for our children to understand their gifts and talents at an early age and be able to walk in them and you be able to see that grow and see God use those gifts to touch other people's lives. I pray that you would journal this week and ask God to reveal what He has placed inside of your children. Pray over that specifically and journal what God is doing and doors that are being opened.

Feburary/Narch - Transition

Good Morning Parents,
My heart has been heavy the last few weeks by events going on in my life and my friends life. I'd like to start by giving Praises and Thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father for keeping my best friends teenage daughter and 2 of her friends safe in car wreck earlier this week. The SUV they were in actually kept them safe as the vehicle flipped over on it's side. God's hand of protection was on them. My friend's daughter ended up breaking her thumb-we all know that things could have been much worse- and I pray for complete and totatl healing without any long term problems. My 2 teenage daughters were also in a much smaller wreck ~ 2 weeks ago. When you are able to look back at situations as a "Christian" you are able to see how things could have been had God's protection had not been there. I'm so very thankful for God's healing and protection over our children.

As we end up Feburary of our prayer calander we begin to head into our new area to cover our children -destiny and talents. I know when I mention the word destiny people look at me weird as if it was a voodoo word of the spirit world so I looked up the meaning in the good ole Webster's dictionary.

Destiny -1. something to which a person or thing is destined. 2. a predetermined course of events often held to an irresistible power or agency.

Destine- 1. to decree beforehand. 2. to designate, assign, or dedicate in advance, or set apart for a specific purpose or place.

Talent-1. any of several ancient units of weight. 2. a characteristic feature, aptitude, or disposition of a person or animal. 3. the natural endowments of a person. 4. a special often creative or artistic aptitude.
The syn- gift.

I wanted to take time to get the meanings of these words down so we as parents are clear as to exactly what we are praying for. My desire for my children is that they would discover their "destiny" or their purpose or place in this life. I desire that God would bless their "natural endowments" so that He can use them to further His kingdom.

As already mentioned, I have two teenage daughters. One is in 8th grade getting ready to go to high school. She has been looking at what type of dipolma she wants and what type of classess she'd like to take. The form she filled out is her "4 year plan". I know any choice she tenatively makes now can be changed over the next 4 years. But my point is that at 14 she is having to start to think about her future and I want part of that thought process to be "What does God want me to do? What has He set me apart for?" My oldest daughter is a junior and thinking about career choices, colleges, scholorsips, and summer jobs. I don't want her making those choices on her own. Both girls are having to think about their futures. How much more as parents should we be covering those choices in advance in prayer and asking for God's direction. I believe the vers that tells us to train a child in the way he should go is to really direct them in the purpose God created them for. I will cover that more later. I really believe that we need to cover these areas of their life even if they are newborns. You can't start too early.

Feburary 26th
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalms 27:14 (NIV)

Feburary 27th
"And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him." Luke 2:40 (NIV)

Feburary 28th

Lord, above all I pray that my child(ren) would be strong in you and your mighty power as according to Your Word.

March 1st

God, Thank You for choosing my child(ren). I pray that he/she would show others Your goodness. Thank You for calling him/her out of darkness. May he/she always know that he/she belongs to You.

March 2nd
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the plans that You have made for my child. I(ren). I pray that Your call on his/her life would be sealed and complete as he/she grows up. I pray that he/she would not be limited in their imagination of his/her abilities.

March 3rd
"So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away." 2 Peter 1:10 (NLT) **Read verses 3-15 My Bible has labeled this section "Make your calling and Election Sure" awesome.

Mighty God, I pray that my child(ren) would always understand the value of hard work. I pray that he/she would never fall away from Your protection and Grace. May others come to see You in the way my child(ren) work.

March 4th
"Give a bonus to leaders who do a good job, especially the ones who work hard at preaching and teaching. Scripture tells us, 'Don't muzzle a working ox' and 'A worker deserves his pay.' " 1 Timothy 5:17-18 (Message)

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that my child(ren) would recieve bonuses for working hard. I pray that he/she would always receive the pay that he/she deserves. I pray that You would help me to instill in them a good work ethic.

I hope you parents are as excited about these verses as I am. Continue to journal where your children are right now in their destiny and see where God takes them over this year. I'd love to hear from you and what God is showing you through this journey. Please share this blog with your freinds.

May God richly bless you as you cover your children in prayer. May your eyes and ears be opened to God's direction. May He reveal treasures/secrets to you about your child(ren)'s destiny and talents.

Feburary - Health

Parents,

I hope everyone had a great week. I hope everyone is enjoying the challenge to pray God's Word over your children. I know we pray for our children but the I think the challenge comes in to not allow the struggles, stresses, routine of our everyday lives to distract us from manning our post on our knees covering every part of our children's lives. I think as humans in general we take our health for granted until something unexpected happens. Working in the medical field in physical therapy for over 21 years I have seen a routine ride home from work leave someone's body changed for the rest of their lives. I've seen an infection travel to the brain leaving a thriving 20 year old wheelchair bound from an abcessed tooth. I've worked with people involved in tornato's, random acts of vilence, and vehicle accidents that have changed thier physical abilities for the rest of their lives. I think praying for our children's health and safey is extremely important. We are can't be with them every minute of the day to be on the look out for any physical danger that maybe heading their way. But I know our Heavenly Father can.

"He sent forth His Word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave..." Psalm 107:20 (NIV)

Thank you Lord for the power of Your spoken word. I trust in Your ability to rescue my child(ren) from illness and even the grave.

I have written down things that I know my children need healing of. I'm trusting in the power of God's Word and His plans for each one of my girls to heal each area of their physical, emotional, and spirtual lives. Don't forget to write specific details down so you can go back and see where God has answered your prayers. Ask God to remind you of your prayers so that you can SEE where He has answered. I think many times we don't see how God has answered our prayers especially if He answers in ways we were expecting.

May God richly bless you as you continue on this journey this year!
